"summary": "The Department of Criminology has specialists in research around five key themes: \n\n\n- Fraud, white-collar and organised crime;\n\n\n- Prisons, punishment and policing;\n\n\n- Violence, abuse, exploitation and intersectionalities;\n\n\n- Quantitative measurement and evaluations of crime and deviance; \n\n\n- Drug markets, consumption and policy.\n\n\nThe School welcomes applications that fit with the particular specialisms of our research staff. For example, we currently have grants in the areas of desistance, fraud, drugs, cryptomarkets, modern slavery, corruption, organised crime, policing and punishment, amongst others. \n\nIn addition, the department has extensive skills in diverse methodologies, including: \n\n\n- biographical and narrative approaches to interviewing;\n\n\n- ethnography;\n\n\n- psychosocial case analysis;\n\n\n- network analysis;\n\n\n- deliberative methods;\n\n\n- qualitative and quantitative longitudinal research;\n\n\n- survey design and applied statistical analysis;\n\n\n- programme evaluation;\n\n\n- policy analysis.\n",
