"summary": "With master's level expertise in cyber security you will tackle real-world challenges and gain practical experience with the latest tools and technologies. From exploring cryptography techniques to ethical hacking, our employability-driven MSc provides opportunities to engage with industry through advanced project work and placements. Upon graduation, you'll develop the analytical, problem-solving, communication and research skills to pursue careers in areas such as cloud security, IT compliance, and forensic analysis.\n\n**Why choose this course?** \n\n\n- Focus on practical and technical aspects of the discipline which match the needs of industry\n\n\n- Gain hands-on experience using the latest tools and technologies in cyber defence\n\n\n- Work on a project in industry or undertake a traditional academic project for your final assessment\n\n\n- Internationally significant and impactful research in areas such as AI, human-centred computing and Cyber Security\n\n\n- High staff-to-student ratio enhanced by small-group tutorials and a strong, inclusive research community\n\n\nWhether you come from a computing or a different academic background, our inclusive teaching approach will guide you through the core principles of cyber security while providing hands-on experience in areas such as cryptography, network security, data management, and cloud technologies.\n\nSpecifically designed for students from non-computing backgrounds, initial modules will introduce you to the essential mathematical concepts and programming required for effective study. This foundational knowledge will support and enhance your understanding of the core AI and data science concepts covered later in the course, while also covering the basics of software engineering.\n\nBuilding on this foundation, you'll explore the theory and application of cryptography and network security, while gaining a deeper understanding of data management, cloud technologies, and the usability and security of operating systems. You will also develop and extend the practical skills that are necessary for the designing, building, deployment and evaluation of cyber security countermeasures.\n\nOur strong focus on employability ensures you gain valuable industry exposure through guest lectures, seminars, industry-related projects, and the opportunity to complete a Work Placement Year. Furthermore, for your final assessment, you will have the option to undertake an industry-driven project, allowing you to apply your advanced skills to real-world challenges.\n\n**About Keele**\n\nKeele University was established in 1949 by the former Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University. Founded to meet the needs of a changing world, Keele has always had a pioneering vision to be a different kind of university.\n\nWe excel in both teaching and research, with some of the most satisfied students in England, and research that is changing lives for the better at a regional, national and global level.\n\nOur beautiful 600-acre campus is one of the biggest in Britain – but all the most important services and facilities are on your doorstep, with accommodation, teaching spaces, facilities including a medical centre, sports centre and pharmacy, and a range of shops, eateries and entertainment venues – including the Students’ Union – clustered around the centre.",
