"summary": "Our faculty are experts in their fields and active on both sides of the Atlantic. This means you’ll be guided and supervised through your research project by leading practitioners. \n\n**Areas of study**\nWe welcome research applications focusing on the social and political history of the United States. Much of our research focuses on:\n\n\n- US race relations from slavery to civil rights, the Black Power movement and Black Lives Matter\n\n\n- the Cold War and transnationalism after World War II\n\n\n- transnational race relations\n\n\n- the Civil War era\n\n\n- the history of American racial violence.\n\n\nWe understand that deciding where and what to study is a very important decision. We’ll make all reasonable efforts to provide you with the courses, services and facilities described in this prospectus.
