LEARNING PLAN (15 CREDITS)\nIn this first module, the student is expected to develop and pitch to the university a Learning Plan that will act as a roadmap of individual study over two years part-time. The Learning Plan will form the link between the individual’s project & career goals and the Programme’s academic and modular frameworks.\n\n2. RESEARCH PAPER (15 CREDITS)\nThis second module focuses on understanding proper research techniques, a lifelong skill to support a filmmaking, media and storytelling career. Students investigate a topic that is foundational to their chosen area of study.\n\n3. NEGOTIATED MODULES (X3) (30 CREDITS EACH)\nStudents design 3 separate modules negotiated with their mentors and advisors. Together these modules lead developmentally toward the student’s final masters project. The negotiated modules typically combine research and applied practice, testing or executing some aspect of writing, directing or producing.\n\n4. NEGOTIATED MASTERS MODULE (60 CREDITS)\nThe final Masters is the culmination of the student’s work in the Programme and brings together the learning\ndone in the previous modules.\n\nOn the MA in Filmmaking course, you will benefit from the allocation of a personal Industry Mentor, with whom you can meet once a month to discuss your creative work and who can help guide your choices. You are also supported by Module Leaders who will guide and support you in your academic research and reflective writing.\n\nThe MA in Filmmaking is part-time, usually completed over two years, allowing students to combine their studies with career and\nfamily commitments. Modules and Tutorials are completed via distance/ online, meaning students can complete their studies in their own countries/ homes, but for UK and London based students, there is the possibility of attending the first two modules in person at the Raindance campus. You will also have access to advanced MA screenwriting, directing, producing and documentary online workshops, and craft skills labs, that are run throughout the year. There are also numerous opportunities to collaborate with students from other courses at the film school on projects. You will benefit from access to the Raindance Film Festival and Raindance industry events, as well as the opportunity to attend external festivals such as Cannes and Berlinale, helping you to begin to navigate your first steps into the international film and television industry.",
