"summary": "We are proud to have been awarded an IoPPN Excellence Award in 2018 for student satisfaction in the Postgraduate Taught Education Survey (PTES).\n\nUnravel the complex relationship between mental disorders and criminal behaviour. At the same time, develop the skills to establish, manage and evaluate programmes designed to reduce antisocial behaviour. \n\nYou’ll have a choice of two pathways: clinical forensic psychology or forensic mental health research. With different entry criteria, you’ll need to pick the one that suits your interests and matches your level of experience. \n\n**Key Benefits** \n\n\n- Focus on the neuroscientific understanding of the development of prosocial and antisocial behaviours across the lifespan\n\n\n- Critically examine forensic practice across the criminal justice system, including prisons, secure forensic hospital settings, and community services\n\n\n- Develop the skills required to critically evaluate new research and to establish evidence-based clinical services\n\n\n- Build an inter-disciplinary understanding of this complex field\n\n\n- \n\n\n**Teaching** \n\nYou’ll be taught by clinicians who split their time between King’s and running specialist services in the community. They might work with sexual offenders, in prisons, or at threat services monitoring risk to politicians. \n\nAt King’s, not only are we building knowledge in the field, we’re also discovering innovative ways to apply research to clinical practice. By the time you graduate, you’ll have the skills to make an impact in the area that interests you. ",

You will be taught by a multi-disciplinary team of clinical academics. The course constitutes an ideal first step towards clinical psychology training, a PhD or MD degree.\nFocus on the cognitive neuroscientific understanding of the development of prosocial and antisocial behaviours across the lifespan.\nCritically examine forensic practice across the criminal justice system, including prisons, secure forensic hospital settings, and community services.\nDevelop the skills required to critically evaluate new research and to establish evidence-based clinical services.\nBuild an inter-disciplinary understanding of this complex field.\nBased at King's Denmark Hill campus, you will be part of a large mental health and neuroscience community where students, researchers and clinicians work side by side. Close links with NHS partners such as South London and Maudsley bring real-world clinical perspectives into your learning, while the smaller, specialist campus helps you build strong connections with staff and peers, in a focused environment just ten minutes by train from central London.\nTaking the course has been an incredibly enriching and enlightening experience. The course material was comprehensive and well-structured. As a young black student, I appreciated that the course consciously incorporated social issues to encourage reflection and self-development.",
