This PhD course combines the expertise of several scientific disciplines to support novel research in formulation engineering.\n\nGain personal, scientific and business skills as you carry out this joint industry-academia research programme. On completion of your research, you will be ready to take charge of development teams in the most competitive markets.\n\n**Course highlights**\n\nCombine the expertise of four academic disciplines - Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics and Chemistry - for a unique research project in formulation. You'll examine the physical, chemical and biological processes that create product structure.\n\nYour work will centre on achieving the desired performance of the product and the means to achieve this. This approach places new demands on interdisciplinarity and innovation. You'll develop a framework of understanding for the design, manufacture and performance assessment of formulated products.\n\nDuring your research you'll make useful industry connection as you build skills to make you suited to a successful career inside and outside of academia.\n\n\n- Managed by the EPSRC funded Centre for Doctoral Training in Formulation Engineering\n\n\n- Engage with the wider research community through interdisciplinary projects\n\n\n- Join with leading industrial partners in both training and research\n\n\n- Receive tailored support through a ‘Training Need Analysis’ developed in collaboration with supervisors\n",
