        "assessmentMethods": "Your PGCE with QTS programme is assessed through a combination of placement assessment alongside formative and summative assessments.\n\nYou will complete three summative assignments over the duration of the course. The first two summative assessments will be based on topics of your choosing that will be set within a provided context. This will allow you to develop your understanding of teaching and learning and the professional application of your understanding in an area that is personally relevant to you. Formative activities are built into the assessment process. As you will be selecting a topic for each of your assessments, you will have the opportunity to share your intentions and to receive confirmation about the appropriateness of your topic before you progress further. You will also have formative assessment submissions where you will receive formative feedback but no grade. This will help you to develop your work prior to summative submission.\n\nThe third summative assignment involves bringing together learning from the cumulative work done during each of your ITAPs. The assignment will also provide a bridge to your Early Career Teacher (ECT) years.\n\nYour three placements, take place at the end of each phase of the course: ‘Beginning’, ‘Developing’ and ‘Extending’. On your Beginning and Developing placements you are assessed against the curriculum you have been taught, split into Beginning and Developing staged expectations. These work towards your Extending placement where you will be assessed against the Teachers’ Standards.     "summary": "Discover our PGCE General Primary course with a specialist pathway in inclusion / SEND. This pathway, alongside our acclaimed General primary programme, provides you with additional specialist knowledge and expertise in the field of working with children with SEND and inclusion. Whilst preparing you for the exciting environment of the mainstream primary classroom, this pathway provides you with additional skills that will allow you to become confident in creating inclusive teaching and learning experiences. In addition, choosing this pathway can also be a step towards a career as a SENCo or a specialist SEND teacher.\n\nAccreditation for the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for September 2025 entry is through the University of Warwick. From September 2026, all students will receive both their professional QTS qualification and their academic qualification from the University of Cumbria.\n\nIf you are an international applicant who requires a visa to study in the UK and are applying for our PGCE programmes starting on Monday 1st September 2025, the final deadline for applications is Monday 30th June 2025. This is to allow time to process your application and meet visa requirements. If your application is for PGCE Primary we may be able to consider your application for our January 2026 cohort instead.
