You will gain the skills to apply emerging machine learning and optimisation methods to solve complex geotechnical engineering applications and aid decision-making in stakeholder environments.\n\nYou'll gain first-hand experience of experimental soil mechanics working in modern, purpose-built laboratories, through a mixture of theoretical and practical learning.\n\nThis degree will also enable you to forge strong links with industry and enhance your fieldwork skills on a series of trips to areas of geological and geotechnical interest in the UK and southern Europe.\n\nFurther develop your understanding on road and rail transport in industrialised countries. You'll also consider contexts in less industrialised countries where transport problems persist. This course will equip you for further PhD research in this specialist area.\n\nThis course is part of the geotechnics cluster of courses at Imperial College London.
