"summary": "**7th in the UK for career after 15 months in Zoology (The Guardian University Guide 2025)**\n\n**11th in the UK for Animal Science (The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2025)**\n\n**94% of our research overall in Biological Sciences was assessed to be world leading or internationally excellent (REF 2021)**\n\nUnderstand the causes, effects and ultimate explanations for the evolution of animal behaviour. On this course, you’ll learn to apply that understanding to conserve and manage species.\n\nLearn from Evolution, Behaviour and Environment faculty in the School of Life Sciences, with interdisciplinary links to the School of Psychology, the Department of Informatics and Sussex Neuroscience.\n\nYou’ll develop an advanced knowledge and practical research skills in animal behaviour. This will put you in a strong position to move on to a PhD or a research career.\n\nYou’ll study at our University campus situated in the Brighton and Lewes Downs UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and within the South Downs National Park, so you can carry out field exercises right on the doorstep.\n\nWe understand that deciding where and what to study is a very important decision. We’ll make all reasonable efforts to provide you with the courses, services and facilities described in this prospectus.
