        "entryRequirements": "The minimum requirements for entry to the programme are:\n\nAn existing teaching role in your workplace, with an interest in pursuing an academic career in healthcare education or healthcare education research.\n\nEvidence of having completed at least one 30 credit module at a minimum of SCQF level 9 (or equivalent) within five years of the programme start date.\n\nA 2.1 Honours undergraduate degree in a health profession or in a relevant field (including but not limited to Health Sciences). If you studied your first degree outside the UK, see the international entry requirements.\n\nOR\n\nSignificant professional or other relevant experience alongside evidence of prior alternative learning such as professional qualifications or certifications.\n\nIn reviewing applications for the programme, the School of Medicine looks especially at whether St Andrews is a good match for your specialist interests. Optional modules allow you to shape the degree around your own personal and professional interests.\n\nSemester 1\nOptional modules are expected to be offered in the following areas:\n\nCurriculum and programme development\nContemporary global issues in health professions education.\n\nThe modules listed here are indicative, and there is no guarantee they will run for 2023 entry. \n\nSemester 2\nResearch Methods in Education\n\nOn completion of the required modules, totalling 120 credits at level 11, learners may wish to exit the programme with a Postgraduate Diploma (PG Dip) in Health Professions Education.\n\nYear 3\nThe final part of the MSc programme is the end of degree project.\n\nThis takes the form of a period of supervised research where you will undertake an in-depth investigation into a chosen topic in health professions education. \n\nThrough the project you will show your ability to undertake sustained critical analysis, develop and improve your research skills, and produce an extended piece of written work that demonstrates a high level of understanding of your area of study.  A flexible approach will be offered to suit the learner with respect to project options.\n\nAll options available will develop research skills to help with future intentions to study at higher level of PhD/MD.  \n\nOption 1: An empirical piece of research   \nOption 2: A systematic review \nOption 3: An extensive research proposal (including ethics application)",
