We have particular expertise in second language acquisition, academic writing, vocabulary acquisition, English for Specific Purposes (ESP), materials design and testing.\n\nFocus on key areas of learning and teaching second languages, including:\n\n\n- Language teaching methodology\n\n\n- Teaching skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) and systems (grammar, vocabulary and discourse)\n\n\n- Materials selection and use\n\n\n- Classroom pedagogy and reflective practice\n\n\n- You’ll study theoretical approaches to TESOL in the research environment of an academic department, and put these into practice in our English Language Teaching Centre (ELTC).\n\n\nThrough this unique combination of theory and practice, you'll develop awareness of the theoretical principles underpinning TESOL practice and be equipped with the practical skills to work in diverse international educational contexts.\n\nPlease see our University website for the most up-to-date course information.",
