"summary": "As a researcher in the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences, students can benefit from specialist computational facilities, training programmes to enhance research skills, and support from dedicated academic supervisors.\n\nStudents are supported and encouraged to submit papers to international scientific journals, present findings at conferences, and share knowledge with colleagues across the University.\n\nResearch in the School follows two strands: computational physics/applied mathematics and pure mathematics. Research in applied mathematics is focused on developing numerical methods and algorithms for solving various equations found in materials science, specifically in nanomaterials.
