"details": "All first round auditions will take place via audition recording, with recall auditions currently planned to take place both in-person and online dependent on the applicant’s individual circumstances. \n\nCandidates for MA/MFA Acting Classical and Contemporary Text should record two pieces (one classical, one contemporary) whose combined length does not exceed 3 minutes. For the recording, one of the speeches should be shot medium-long (from knees up) and one of the speeches should be shot medium-close. \n\nContemporary – from a play written in the past 25 years \nClassical – from a play (or material meant to be acted) written before 1800 \nCandidates are welcome to present pieces that are not part of the Western canon if they so desire. \n\nIf you are successfully recalled, you will be invited for a recall via e-mail with the relevant information. "summary": "**The application deadline for this programme is 31st March 2026.**\n**Please note, there will be multiple audition rounds for this course, please visit our website for specific information. Round one auditions will take place via Audition recordings only which will need to be completed via our Acceptd platform by the application deadline date.**\n\nMA Acting Classical and Contemporary Text (CCT) is a course for actors who find themselves looking beyond traditional and contemporary artistic approaches as they seek to broaden and deepen their individual practice. Individuality is at the core of this postgraduate programme. We work with artists who use their social, moral, and ethical values to animate their practice. This is a course where you will have agency over your own work and be responsible for driving your learning and creativity forward. \n\nIt is this agency which makes the programme different from undergraduate study. With support from the staff team, you will write your own learning outcomes, determine your trajectory and ultimately, we hope, you will flourish as both a learner and a creative practitioner. \n\nIt’s an intense programme where actors and directors work together, creating a dynamic community rooted in creative collaboration. Highlights include developing original digital work for the On the Verge festival, performing or directing contemporary performance working in proto-professional ensembles and completing a month’s residency at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, London. \n\nAt the end of this residency, after undertaking classes with the educational team at the Globe, you will perform or direct sharings on the mainstage of Shakespeare’s Globe, a unique and iconic playing space. \n\nIf this narrative excites or inspires you, please get in touch to discuss how you can begin your artistic journey with us. \n\n**Important Audition Information**\nPlease note, there will be two audition rounds for this programme, please visit our website for specific information. All first-round auditions are assessed from a submitted recording via our Acceptd platform, regardless of which audition location / type of audition you choose. All round one audition recordings must be received by the deadline of the 31st of March. The only exception to this is for applicants attending our overseas auditions. Your audition location should relate to your preferred recall audition should you be successful in progressing through from the first round.\n\nOur international auditions are still being confirmed.
