        "entryRequirements": "A 2:1 honours degree, or international equivalent, in architecture. We prefer this to be recognised by the Architects Registration Board (ARB) as successful completion of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Part I.\n\nYou will need to submit a portfolio and may need to attend an interview.\n\nWe will also consider applicants on an individual basis with a lower or non-accredited qualification providing they submit a strong portfolio and evidence of personal development. We prefer you to have successfully completed a year in professional training.\n\nWhilst you can enter our MArch (Part II) programme without previously passing RIBA (Part I), if you wish to practice in the UK you will need to satisfy the requirements of the RIBA by passing the RIBA Part I and Part III exams.\n\nPart III can be taken here in the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape and is a part time placement year programme.\n\nEnglish Language Requirements\nDirect Entry: IELTS 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 5.5 in all sub-skills).",

    "summary": "This course is centred on studio work that is intended to stretch the boundaries of your design imagination.\n\nOn our two-year programme you'll engage with challenging ideas and theories, tackle meaningful problems through creative and exploratory design and research.\n\nOur diverse programme is structured around vertical design studios taught across both stages of the programme.\n\nEach studio sets an agenda and brief and will help you to develop and apply critical thinking, practical tools and methods to your own design process.\n\nThrough our elective modules you'll work closely with academics in the School and contribute to:\n\n\n- emerging research on material sciences and cultures\n\n\n- processes and practices of architecture\n\n\n- environmental sustainability\n\n\n- histories of architecture\n\n\nBeing part of the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape means you can also take optional modules in Urban Design and Planning, offering an accelerated route to accredited masters in these disciplines following the MArch.\n\nThis is a modular MArch programme based on design project work. Lectures and seminars examine the theoretical, practical and material dimensions of architecture.\n\nThrough the course you’ll:\n\n\n- Develop an appreciation of design as a collective cultural endeavour involving the acquisition and exercise of complex knowledge and skills\n\n\n- Learn to think and act critically\n\n\n- Define the kind of architect you want to be\n\n\n- Develop the knowledge and skills necessary to work in the architectural profession with an independent, research-led attitude towards design\n\n\nYou'll engage with a wide range of staff in the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape.
