"suggest": "French and Economics. University of Strathclyde. Economics. French. Humanities. Modern languages",
"summary": "French is a major international language. It is the first language of more than 100 million people across the world, while more than 60 million people speak French as a second language.\n\nStudying with us will give you the chance to become a fluent linguist and, with our year abroad programme, an opportunity to experience living, working and/or studying in another country.\n\nFollowing the recent global economic crisis, economics is more important and relevant than ever. Decisions on money, banking, interest rates, taxation and government spending affects us all, with global consequences.\n\nEconomics aims to understand the activities of the different agents in the economy - consumers, producers and the government - and how they all fit together.\n\nOur degree will give you the ability to explain complex data in simple terms to different audiences. You'll also develop excellent mathematical, statistical and problem-solving skills.\n\nRanked Top 10 in Scotland for French (Complete University Guide 2025). \n\nThis course is part of our flexible BA Humanities and Social Science Degree programme. With our BA (Honours) degree you can choose from subjects in Humanities, Social Sciences and Business, with two of your three subject choices taught by the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences. \n\nThe BA degree is a three year course and the Honours degree is normally a four year course. This allows you to try new subjects, develop your own ideas, develop a broad range of knowledge and enhance your employability. \n\nYou should only enter one of the UCAS codes on your application form. Acceptance on one of these subject codes will enable you to study any combination of subjects. Only one application will be considered. This is lifted from page 50 of the prospectus. \n\nhttps://www.strath.ac.uk/humanities/undergraduate/flexiblebadegree\n\nEvery one of our flexible BA options gives students the chance to gain valuable professional experience as part of a credit-bearing work placement class in their third or fourth year. Annual revision of fees Students on programmes of study of more than one year (or studying standalone modules) should be aware that the majority of fees will increase annually. The University will take a range of factors into account, including, but not limited to, UK inflation, changes in delivery costs and changes in Scottish and/or UK Government funding. Changes in fees will be published on the University website in October each year for the following year of study and any annual increase will be capped at a maximum of 10% per year.
