"summary": "Get set to take on an undergraduate degree in politics with this foundation year course. \n\nIf you don't yet have the entry requirements you need for a bachelor's degree, if you've taken a break from studying, or if you're looking to gain confidence and study skills beforehand, this foundation year degree will give you the step up you need.\n\nYou'll study with us for a year on campus, through ICP. You'll get the knowledge and academic skills needed to take on a bachelor's degree, learning how to analyse information, do research, and improve your academic writing.\n\nWhat you'll learn will help you work in teams as well as on your own in culturally diverse workplaces. Many of our politics graduates go into people-focused roles, or apply their understanding of political theory to roles in research, shaping social policy or working for social change.\n\n**Placement year opportunities**\nOnce you've completed your foundation year and moved on to your full Bachelor's degree, you can do an optional work placement sandwich year, to get valuable longer-term work experience in the industry. \n\nPrevious students have secured placements at: \n\n\n- The Ministry of Defence \n\n\n- The House of Commons \n\n\n- National Museum of the Royal Navy\n\n\nWe’ll help you secure a work placement that fits your aspirations.
