"modules": "Year 1 \nAll students take the following compulsory modules:\nFoundations of Economics 1: Theories\nFoundations of Economics 2: Business Applications\nIntroduction to Philosophy: The Problems of Ethics\t\nIntroduction to Political Philosophy\t\nUK and European Comparative Governance and Politics\nIdentity, Agency & Environment 1\t\nIdentity, Agency & Environment 2\t\n\nYear 2 \nYou will study the following compulsory modules:\nKnowledge and Subjectivity\t\nPolitical Economy 1: Key concepts\t\nPolitical Economy 2: Policy problems\t\nGoldsmiths Elective \n\nYou'll also be able to choose modules worth 60 credits from a list provided annually by the Department of Politics and International Relations. This may include modules from other departments across Goldsmiths.\n\nYear 3 \nIn your final year, you'll take the following compulsory modules which include an extended piece of research through a dissertation:\nDissertation\t\nGlobal Cultural Politics\n\nWork Placement module\nThis optional module available in your third year gives students experience of working in a range of organisations in the NGO sector such as charities, think-tanks and pressure groups, bodies connected with international organisations, appropriate businesses, and political parties. \t\n\nThere will be a pool of guaranteed places which will be allocated on the basis appropriateness of the placement to the student's interests. However, we also encourage you to take the opportunity to find your own placements and will support you in that process. We would hope that all students will be able to take up the opportunity should an appropriate placement be found.\n\nIn fairness to hosts, we will have to be confident that students' levels of attendance and achievement while at Goldsmiths suggest they can benefit from the placement.\n\nYou'll also undertake 60 credits worth of optional modules from a list published annually by the Department of International Relations.\n\nPlease note that due to staff research commitments not all of these modules may be available every year.",
