"summary": "Our Psychology degree is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). This course is your chance to explore a diverse field of scientific study as part of our vibrant academic community. You will conduct research in different areas of psychology within our dedicated laboratories.\n\n92%\nof Psychology, students were satisfied with their course. (National Student Survey 2020)\nIn years 1 and 2 you will study the core areas of psychological science while practising your research skills in the laboratories every week. The research our academic staff carry out informs your learning. Some of these topics include:\n\nCognitive neuroscience of language and memory\nSocial interaction and political psychology\nChildren's cognitive development, including literacy, tool innovation, and imagination\nBody image and bullying\nMental health and neurodiversity.\nIn year 3 you can tailor your degree to your interests and ambitions. You can choose from a range of modules that introduce professional specialisms such as clinical and forensic psychology. You can choose from optional modules that introduce professional specialisms, such as clinical and forensic psychology, or offer the chance to study advanced topics in psychological science. You will also conduct a piece of original research under the supervision of a member of academic staff in your dissertation module.\n\nAs a Psychology student, you will have access to our dedicated lab spaces. You will use our computer labs for research methods classes and our suite of research labs for collecting data. The research labs include:\n\nEEG lab - for recording electrical activity in the brain\nEye-tracking lab - for monitoring gaze patterns with static or mobile eye trackers\nVirtual reality (VR) equipment\nObservation lab - including wall and ceiling-mounted cameras\nA large collection of psychometric tests and questionnaires.\nOur dedicated team of technicians will support you when working with equipment in the laboratories.\n\nWe focus on developing your employability throughout your degree.
