"summary": "**What makes Zoology at the University of Worcester special?**\n\nIn the face of the current biodiversity crisis and the impacts of climate change, Zoology offers an insight into how we can positively affect the distribution of animal life in the future. Our Zoology course engages with a wide field of activity, giving our graduates the expertise that they will need to access a variety of Zoological careers. You will study Zoology from the smallest cellular and physiological levels through to whole organisms and their interactions with each other and the environment.\n\nAt Worcester, you will benefit from small class sizes and easy access to the lecturing staff in the course team, helping you to study in a friendly and productive learning environment. The great thing about studying BSc Zoology at Worcester is that you will be taught by experts with a wide range of experience from behavioural studies, through physiology to practical conservation. This means you have a wide choice when it comes to choosing your modules for the final year and in choosing what kind of research project you want to pursue for your dissertation.\n\n**Key features**\n\n\n- Accredited by the Royal Society of Biology who praised the comprehensive range of skills included in the students’ “skills passport” and positive learning environment\n\n\n- Explore the wonders of the animal kingdom, including their evolution, taxonomy, physiology, behaviour and conservation\n\n\n- Shape a degree to suit you – build a firm foundation in core principles, whilst selecting from a wide range of optional modules such as microbiology, genomics & bioinformatics, parasitology current topics in zoology & conservation and a residential field trip\n\n\n- Follow your interests and career aspirations by choosing your Research Project. Past studies have looked at genetic diversity in European populations of \n\n\nEurasian Lynx, identification of Nosema apis fungus from soil moisture and faeces from honeybee hives, a comparison of activity budgets and social behaviours of barbary macaques with and without dependent young, and suitable habitat for recolonisation of wolves in Central Europe \n\n**Why the University of Worcester?**\n\nThe University of Worcester is a campus university, meaning everything you need is on site. We’re based in a vibrant cathedral city just 40 mins south of Birmingham and an hour north of Bristol, and our beautiful green campuses have plenty of parking and quality on-site accommodation.\n\nAt Worcester small class sizes, supportive tutors and professionally focussed courses mean you’ll be prepared for your dream career. These are just some of the reasons why we’re first in the UK for both graduate employment and quality education.\n\n\n- **First in the UK for sustained employment** and/or further study (excluding specialist institutions), 5 years after graduation – Longitudinal Education Outcomes data 2024.\n\n\n- **First in the UK for quality education** – Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings 2024.\n\n\n- **Ofsted Outstanding** in 2023 the University’s primary and secondary teacher training programmes were rated ‘Outstanding’.\n\n\nJoin us at one of our regular Open Days to see if the University is a good fit for you: www.worcester.ac.uk/opendays",
