"summary": "This degree course will enable you to develop a personal creative practice as a writer, offering imaginative approaches in a variety of forms, while gaining skills and critical insights in modern languages and cultures. It offers an exploration of the techniques and contexts of the novel, the short story, poetry, and writing for performance and media. \n\nGuided by published writers, poets and researchers, you will study and practise creative writing across a range of genres, forms, and media, from the traditional through to the experimental. You will discover your unique strengths as a writer and find new ways to engage creatively with different audiences.\n\nOur cross-disciplinary Creative Writing and Modern Languages degree will give you to opportunity to learn about the cultures and societies of the countries in which your chosen language is spoken, whilst also helping you to hone you own creative voice as a writer. The compulsory year abroad is fantastic preparation for today’s multilingual, multicultural world of work. The experience can inform, inspire and influence your creative writing whilst improving your language skills.\n\n‘Placement Year’ and 'International Experience Year’ options are available for this course. You will have the opportunity to fully consider these options when you have started your course at Bangor and can make an application for a transfer onto such a pathway at the appropriate time.
