"assessmentMethods": "We teach Criminology through lectures, interactive sessions, practical computer lab workshops and small group seminars, supported by a personal tutorial system. Lectures provide commentary and explanation of key content areas.\n\nSmall-group seminars develop your understanding by inviting you to raise questions and participate in the debate and by providing guidance for further study. Computer labs develop your skills in the production and analysis of data.\n\nYou are encouraged to undertake extensive reading and independent study in order to understand the topics covered in lectures and classes and to broaden and deepen your knowledge of the subject.\n\nAssessment is primarily in the form of coursework (assessed essays and assignments). For the third year dissertation, you will receive supervision and the Sociology Project (Dissertation) module provides you with the opportunity to develop research methods and writing skills.",
