However, individuals currently undertaking driving lessons are also encouraged to apply.\n\nBy the start of the course, candidates must have:\n> A provisional category C1 license.\n> A full category C1 (or higher) is desirable but not essential.\n\nApplicants must obtain a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check or approved equivalent as well as an Occupational Health Check before the start of the course.\n\nFor applicants whose first language is not English we require a minimum overall IELTS score of 7.0 (or equivalent) and no less than 6.5 in each component.",
