"summary": "Focusing upon technical knowledge and practical skills, this MRes is ideal for:\n\n\n- students who want to pursue research in industrially relevant areas of biochemistry, such as biopharma/healthcare, healthy foods, bioarchaeology, business/entrepreneurship and other related areas\n\n\n- those currently working in industry wishing to obtain a masters qualification while working in a company’s own laboratories. Many of the modules can also be studied remotely, giving you the flexibility to study alongside other work commitments. \n\n\nThe effective roll out of vaccines against Covid is the result of effective macromolecular design monitored by accurate measurement.\n\nThis programme is taught in conjunction with leading biopharma/healthcare and food companies such as:\n\n\n- AstraZeneca\n\n\n- Arecor\n\n\n- Sanofi\n\n\n- GSK\n\n\n- Upperton Laboratories\n\n\n- Britvic\n\n\n- Institutes such as the National Institute for Biological Standards and the Viking Ship Museum (Oslo).\n\n\nProjects are currently available in the following areas:\n\n\n- Biopharma and Healthcare\n\n\n- Industrial Biochemistry\n\n\n- Food Chemistry\n\n\n- Macromolecular Biotechnology\n\n\n- Biomolecular Conservation in Archaeology\n\n\n- Business Aspects of Biomolecular Technology\n\n\nThe 120 credit research dissertation is a main feature of the course. You will also undertake a group mini project which can be done in the National Centre for Macromolecular Hydrodynamics/Biomaterials Laboratories.",
