"summary": "**The BSc (Hons) Biological Sciences (including Foundation Year) is a four-year degree.**\n\nYou’ll secure a broad understanding of modern biology and a strong basis to specialise from, in your undergraduate degree or beyond.\n\nIf you don’t yet meet the entry requirements for the three-year version, starting the course with a Foundation Year gives you a supported step up to university study.\n\n**WHY THIS COURSE**\n\nThe BSc (Hons) Biological Sciences (including Foundation Year) lets you explore the spectrum of biology and choose what to specialise in.\n\nYou'll spend Year Zero on our Life Sciences Pathway, gaining an introduction to biology, chemistry for biology, and mathematics and statistics for life sciences. You’ll then choose whether to progress to the BSc (Hons) Biological Sciences, BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science or BSc (Hons) Marine Biology.\n\nYear One will offer broad insights into cell and molecular biology, genetics, ecology and evolution.
