"modules": "Year one – The course starts by shaping how you think and draw as a comic and concept artist. Practical workshops develop your design drawing, idea generation, and visual storytelling. Lectures and seminars focus on the historical and professional contexts of comic and concept art industries. Projects and art tests give you a taste of what is required to be a comic and concept artist. Experimentation and developing traditional drawing skills inform your 2D and 3D digital output.\n\nYear two – Our teaching further develops your understanding of cultural awareness and the skills needed for worldbuilding and believability. Practical workshops will stretch you and your digital 2D and 3D workflows in visualising characters and their worlds. Specialisms might include character, environment, architecture, prop, mech, vehicle and creature design, storyboarding, narrative illustration, webtoons, comics or graphic novels. You will also create a professional online profile and expand your industry engagement.\n\nYear three – You will focus on your specialism and the industry-related skills for becoming a professional comic and/or concept artist. You will negotiate a creative project including developing industry links - competitions, live briefs, studio visits and industry research - building a robust portfolio that reflects your passion, ambition and sought-after talent as a versatile specialist.",

"furtherInformation": "Leeds Arts University encourages applications from talented and motivated students. The University uses a wide range of methods to assess applications, these can include:\n\n•\tpersonal statement\n•\tpredicted grades\n•\tcontextual information\n•\treference\n•\texamples of your work\n•\tdigital auditions or interview\n\nIf you are successful in your application an offer will be made to you, if conditional we will ask for between 104 and 120 UCAS tariff points from any combination of A Levels/T Level/Extended Diploma/Foundation Diploma. The expected subjects will depend on the course you are applying for.\n\nAll applicants must have GCSE English Language or Literature at Grade 4/Grade C or above, or English Functional Skills Level 2 at Pass.\n\n-\n\nExamples of work\n\nAs part of the application process you are required to submit examples of work. The files should be no larger than 30MB in total. Guidance on what to include in your examples of work can be found on our website at www.leeds-art.ac.uk/ug-entry-requirements.\n\n-\n\nEnglish\nYou’ll need to have passed GCSE English Language or English Literature at Grade 4/Grade C or above, or English Functional Skills Level 2 at Pass. For mature students, an Access to Higher Education qualification in art and design will also be acceptable to demonstrate English language ability.\n\nCurrently studying a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design?\nIf you are currently studying a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design, you will have already achieved level 3 qualifications which carry UCAS tariff points. When considering your application, we will, collate your achieved tariff points with those you are predicted. "summary": "This experiential course gives you space to explore theory, practice, and professional contexts of comic and concept art. Discover the diverse possibilities of these exciting fields through practical, transdisciplinary, and industry-relevant skills.\n\nThis course is one of the first to bring together comic and concept art. You will refine your design, drawing and digital visualisation skills to create believable worlds and bring immersive stories from your imagination to life.\n\nUsing emerging technologies and industry-standard software, you will develop your design and planning skills alongside comic and concept art outputs. There is a strong emphasis on engaging with industry from the start of the course and gaining professional practice skills.\n\nOur local, national, and international industry links allow you to learn from practising artists, live briefs, and industry workshops. We position all comic and concept art within an international context, which has included involvement in Thought Bubble – the leading European comic art festival based in Yorkshire.\n\nWe encourage creative collaboration within the course and across the University, learning to work to briefs, participate in competitions, and have your work critiqued. You will develop your understanding of studio and freelance practice while gaining expert skills suitable for a range of creative careers.\n\nFormer students have forged successful careers in concept art for film and gaming industries, published comics, and worked in theatre design.",
