"furtherInformation": "All applicants to the University (from the UK and Overseas) are required to show evidence of English Language proficiency. The minimum English Language requirement for this course is either:\n\nGCSE/IGCSE English Language grade B/6, or;\n\nIELTS 7.0 overall with 6.5 in each sub-test, or;\n\nAn acceptable equivalent qualification.\n\nPlease note that if you hold English as a second language iGCSE qualification, we may also require you to offer one of our acceptable equivalent English Language qualifications or achieve a higher grade in your iGCSE than the one stated above. Please contact the academic School for clarification.\n\nThe UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires that every student from outside the UK and the EU must show evidence of a minimum level of English Language in order to be granted a UK visa (Tier 4 visa) to study at undergraduate or postgraduate level. This level is often referred to as the 'B2 level'.\n\nAdditionally, our individual Schools may ask for specific English Language proficiency levels that are necessary for their academic programmes. "summary": "BA English Literature with Creative Writing is a small, specialised creative writing pathway within an English Literature degree, in which you will take 33% of your credits in creative writing in your second and third years. \n\nThe course covers the full range of English literature from Old English to the present day.\n\nThe creative writing component of the course focuses on fiction and poetry writing.\n\nThe course will introduce you to techniques of fiction and poetry writing, and develop your understanding of the craft of writing, the nature and necessity of revision, and the importance of being able to give and receive constructive feedback.\n\nThe creative writing component of the degree will be taught in small group workshops.\n\nYou will write your own poems and stories regularly, read relevant work from established writers, and respond to examples of contemporary poetry and fiction.\n\nThere will be in-class writing exercises and an introduction to workshopping.\n\nYou will become part of a thriving community of students, lecturers, and writers at The University of Manchester, based in the heart of a UNESCO City of Literature that has produced some of the world's greatest writers and has a thriving literature and arts scene, including major events like Manchester Literature Festival.",
