These skills being essential when working within the sector help prepare students for work. \n•\tUnit 9: Applied anatomy and physiology (15 Credits)\nDeveloping background knowledge and understanding of the healthy human body and how it works supports students to gain the skills to enable them to contribute to improved care and outcomes for individuals with complex conditions. \nLevel 5 (Year 2)\n•\tUnit 8: Innovation and improvement through participatory action research (30 Credits)\nDeveloping from level 4 research, the aim of the unit is to develop student knowledge of Action Research and plan for a specific area of study relating to chosen area of practice. \n•\tUnit 9: Reflective approaches in implementing person-centred practice (15 Credits)\nBuilds on learning from unit 2, providing students with opportunity to further develop their skills as a reflective practitioner. Bringing together classroom and real work knowledge to demonstrate their professional development.\n•\tUnit 10: Planning care in practice (15 Credits)\nStudents will examine the current models and methods of assessment and approaches that are designed to develop effective care strategies. Students will also learn how to effectively review practice-based learning related to theoretical perspectives.\n•\tUnit 11: Meeting the needs of individuals with long-term health conditions (15 Credits)\nDesigned to enable students to consider the needs of individual with long term health conditions and to develop their skills in the holistic assessment of needs to supports personalised care for individuals. \n•\tUnit 12: Team and individual leadership: mentoring and coaching others (15 Credits)\nDevelops understanding of the principles and theories of leadership, coaching an mentorship and their application in the context of healthcare.
