"summary": "The role of the midwife is vital. Supporting women through pregnancy, labour, birth and during the postnatal period is a truly fulfilling career. You’ll be making a difference to the lives of women and their families – starting right here with this degree in midwifery. \nYou’ll spend half your time in theoretical study in our award-winning Allam Medical Building, with all the advantages of its state-of-the-art facilities. \nFor the other half, you’ll be on clinical placement, learning through mentored practical experience the skills you’ll need to become a confident, effective and fully qualified midwife.\n\n**Why study at Hull?** \n\n• **Fantastic facilities**: We’ve invested £28 million into our health campus. The award-winning Allam Medical building houses a suite of impressive learning areas including simulated birthing units, neo-natal wards and more.\n• **Get paid £5,000 a year**: Apply for at least £5k a year, depending on your personal circumstances, through the NHS Learning Support Fund. This is a yearly payment that you won’t have to pay back.\n• **Accredited qualifications**: The course is Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) accredited, so when you graduate, you’ll be eligible to register as a qualified midwife.\n\n**Where could this take me?** \n\nMidwifery is a vocational degree with most of our graduates going on to work as midwives after graduation.\n\nOur midwifery degree has a 100% employability rate – so the job prospects couldn’t be better – with graduates starting careers in the NHS as well as in private practice. Some even take their qualifications abroad to work as midwives overseas.",
