"furtherInformation": "All applicants must have achieved a minimum of a first degree (2:2 or above) and should have a minimum of Mathematics, English Language and Science GCSEs at grade C/4 or above. IT skills can be demonstrated through the application process.\n \nWe will accept GCSE Science, Biology, Additional Science, Applied Science, Physics or Chemistry. BTEC Level 2 Science (Pass) as an acceptable equivalent. \n \nIf you don't currently have your Mathematics or Science GCSE, there may be an opportunity to complete one of the approved equivalency testing courses before enrolling, to help secure your place. Please contact Admissions for more information.\n \nApplicants must evidence recent study within the last five years. Plus, evidence of relevant, practice-related experience through the pre-entry portfolio (detailed below). \n \nInternational applicants must have achieved an overall score of 6.5 in the academic version of IELTS. "summary": "Nurses are the professional face of healthcare, the calm voice explaining a procedure.\n\nThey are the go-to figures providing unwavering support, the ones ensuring patient safety and giving care no matter what the circumstances.\n\nWe’ve designed our MSc Adult Nursing (Pre-registration) course around the core values of the NHS constitution so that you understand what’s required in caring for and supporting vulnerable adults.\n\nThe MSc Adult Nursing (Pre-registration) is an accelerated postgraduate course developed for those who have already graduated with an undergraduate degree. You'll gain the experience and skills required to practice as an adult nurse in two years, rather than the traditional three-year route.\n\nOur aim is to make sure we prepare you for the challenges you may face and develop the expertise you’ll need to become a leader in nursing. You’ll learn how to assess your patient’s needs and provide sensitive support, and how to collaborate with colleagues across a range of professions (including doctors, physiotherapists and dieticians).\n\nYou’ll spend half of your time studying in clinical placements or in simulation-based learning incorporating a variety of settings, with support from a practice supervisor/assessor and academic assessor. This may include an operating theatre, accident and emergency, a community health centre, an intensive care unit, an outpatient's department or a nursing home. \n\nWhen you're on campus you'll be based in our award-winning Brooks building, equipped with hospital-standard, specialist health facilities and simulation technology.\n\nWorking in small groups in our clinical simulation suite, you’ll learn many skills to support the development of your practice. It’s here that you’ll work on simulations of a patient’s journey from admission to discharge.\n\nAll of our teaching team in the School of Nursing are registered nurses, health visitors, advanced practitioners and academics.
