"summary": "Bachelor of Education (Music) with Honours is a vocational programme for musicians who aspire to teach music in schools. You will be enrolled in one of the most highly regarded routes into classroom music teaching in Scotland, qualifying you for both primary and secondary school teaching. The degree provides integrated school placements in all four years of study. \n\nIn this programme, you will study aspects of teacher education in developing your skillsets for effective classroom practice and preparation for school experience. With a focus on professionalism, practitioner enquiry and career-long professional learning, you will develop a personal educator identity. You will undertake intensive music studies focusing on creativity, performance and collaboration. You will develop your skills and knowledge in musicianship, musicology, technology, piano and classroom instruments. With school placements in every year of study, you will have the opportunity to embed learning and develop the practical application of skills through teaching practice. \n\nFollowing graduation, you will qualify for Provisional Registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS). All eligible graduates are guaranteed a probationary year of classroom teaching in a Scottish school. GTCS standards are recognised in the UK and internationally, with many of our former students working in Scotland or abroad after graduation.",

All applicants whose first language is not English will be required to provide evidence that their English language level meets the entrance requirements for their chosen programme.\nIf you require a student visa to study in the UK, UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) require a minimum of B2 standard on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in all four components (reading, writing, speaking, listening). Equivalent to an IELTS overall score of 5.5 with 5.5 in every component. RCS is required to obtain evidence of your English language ability before we can sponsor your visa application. You do not need to provide this at the point of application or audition but please ensure you leave yourself enough time to meet the required English language level. RCS reserves the right to ask for additional evidence if there are any concerns over your English language level.\nThe majority of RCS programmes have higher English language requirements than the UKVI required level (CEFR level B2) and you will also need to meet these higher requirements.
