It includes areas such as quantum theory, relativity and particle physics, and lies at the heart of most modern technology - for example the computer and the laser. Most forefront science takes place in international collaborations, and this 4-year BSc degree includes a year studying abroad. It is aimed at students who wish to continue Spanish beyond school.\n\n**Physics With Spanish Degree Highlights**\nPhysics at Queen's was ranked 3rd in the country for research intensity in the United Kingdom's most recent Research Excellence Framework (REF) exercise as published by the Times Higher Education.\n\n**Global Opportunities**\nStudents undertaking the Physics with Spanish degree will spend a year studying physics in a university in Spain supported by the Erasmus programme.\n\n**Professional Accreditations**\nYou will have partially fulfilled the requirements to obtain the status of Chartered Physicist (CPhys) with the Institute of Physics.\n\n**World Class Facilities**\nYou will be taught in our new state-of-the-art teaching centre, containing specialist laboratory equipment and computer facilities.\n\n**Internationally Renowned Experts**\nAll of our faculty staff are research scientists in their own right; in the 2014 REF peer-review exercise, 88% of our research was judged as internationally excellent or world-leading, and QUB was 3rd in the UK for research intensity.\n\n**Student Experience**\nOur students rated overall satisfaction in our BSc Physics degree at 100% in the 2018 National Student Survey.",
