There are a variety of assessments throughout the study, for example the students have simulations to work through, reflective accounts to write, essays, presentations, drug calculations exam and more. The students are also assessed in practice on the skills they are learning.\n\nWe supports the values stated in the NHS Constitution and these values are utilised in our recruitment and selection processes. "summary": "**Top 11 for General Nursing** - The University of Northampton is a top 11 institution for general Nursing in the Best UK University Guardian League table for 2026.\n\nOur three-year Adult Nursing course will give you the ability to cope with a demanding and satisfying profession, leading to a **BSc Adult Nursing (Hons)** and **registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)**. The structure provides a strong foundation in adult nursing with skills based upon the theory taught at the University and clinical placements. You will be introduced to a range of care settings to familiarise you with emerging patterns of care and allow you to choose a specialist area. You will also gain **Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)** within this programme.\n\n**The NHS Learning Support Fund**\n\nStudents, studying nursing, midwifery and many of the allied health professions courses from September 2020, may be eligible for a payment of at least £5,000 a year which they will not need to pay back. They may be able to apply for Financial support at the university through the NHS Learning Support Fund (NHS LSF) which offers eligible students additional support while studying for their degree. This is in addition to the Student Loan from the Student Loans Company*.\n\n**By studying at the University of Northampton, you can be sure that:**\n\n\n- Our expert academics teach in small groups supported with one to one assistance.
