"summary": "This programme leads to a second registration in children’s nursing. If you are registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as either an Adult, Mental Health or Learning Disability Nurse and have an honours degree 2:2 or above, you can gain a second registration as a Children's Nurse by completing the Postgraduate Diploma Programme.\n\nThis innovative and intensive one-year course aimed at Registered Nurses with an existing Nursing degree (2:2 or above). It will equip you with the knowledge and skills to assess and manage the nursing care needs of children and families, including those with acute and long-term conditions. The course will also develop your abilities to consider the wider aspects influencing children's health needs, preparing you for future leadership in a changing and challenging health care system.\n\nThe course prepares you for a career in a range of rewarding children's nursing opportunities across primary, secondary and tertiary health care, specialist and intensive care children's units. Practice experience is gained in either one of several world-renowned central and outer London hospitals or if you have been seconded within your current Trust or Hospital.",
