"summary": "**The BEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering (including Foundation Year) is a four-year degree, extendable to five with an optional year in placement or abroad.**\n\nYou’ll build a strong foundation in core engineering and computer science theory, as well as the skills and tools to resolve existing problems and create new electronic products, from communications to digital systems.\n\nIf you don’t yet meet the entry requirements for the three-year version, starting the course with a Foundation Year gives you a supported step up to university study.\n\n**WHY THIS COURSE**\n\nThe BEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering (including Foundation Year) gives you the theory and practical knowledge to understand – and create – electronics that make a real impact on the world.\n\nYou’ll spend Year Zero on the Computer Science, Electronic Engineering and Mathematics Pathway, gaining an introduction to statistical analysis and modelling as well as computer programming. You'll then choose whether to progress to the BSc (Hons) Computer Science, BSc (Hons) Computer Games, BEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering or BSc (Hons) Mathematics.\n\nFrom Year One of BEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering, you’ll learn from active computer scientists and engineers whose work and teaching are driven by creativity and imagination as well as technical excellence.
