"summary": "BA Human Geography with integrated Foundation Year is delivered by Aberystwyth University’s Department of Geography and Earth Sciences and is the most established and experienced department of its kind - with the unique opportunity to study geography in one of the most picturesque locations in Europe. Following the foundation year, the syllabus of this course is identical to its sister course [Human Geography, L700].\n\nSet on the coast of Cardigan Bay and surrounded by a great diversity of beautiful environments, including marine, moorland, mountain and grassland, the Department of Geography and Earth Sciences is uniquely placed to make the most of the stunning landscapes that surround it, providing you with a fabulous variety of fieldwork and recreational opportunities. This degree accredited by Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) will equip you with the skills, abilities and expertise to face and engage with the challenges facing society today.\n\n**Benefits of Foundation Year**\n\nA degree course with a foundation year enables you to gain the knowledge and skills required to succeed at degree-level studies. In addition, many of our Foundation year schemes offer some flexibility within the subject area giving you more time to decide on a specific subject pathway.\n\nDuring the Foundation year of the degree, you will explore a range of subjects, develop essential skills such as research and critical analysis, developing arguments and self-evaluation. \n\nFoundation year students have full access to all campus facilities, societies and everything else that Aberystwyth students’ community has to offer. You will be supported by the University personal tutor system and have access to Student Support and Careers Services. Funding and availability of student loans are identical to all other undergraduates and you can apply for a place through UCAS in the same way as any other of our undergraduate degrees.\n\nThere are few fixed entry requirements, but each applicant will be assessed on an individual basis to ensure that they are right for the course and that the course is right for them.",
