"summary": "**Why study Adult and Children's Nursing at Liverpool John Moores University?**\n- Qualify to register as both an Adult and Children's nurse with our integrated masters degree.\n\n\n- Four-year degree accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).\n\n\n- You will graduate with an integrated masters (MNurs), having studied at Levels 4, 5, 6 and 7.\n\n\n- NHS Training Grant eligible course - receive £5,000 per year (eligibility criteria apply). \n\n\n- Learn from highly experienced nurse academic practitioners, who will support you at each stage of your journey.\n\n\n- Study in professional standard, technology enhanced clinical simulation suites in our Tithebarn Building. \n\n\n- Excellent placement opportunities.\n\n\n- Dual field NMC registration opens up more career opportunities than being registered in a single field.\n\n\n- 95% of students surveyed said the academic support on LJMU's nursing courses was good or very good (National Student Survey 2024). \n\n\n**About your course**\nDual registered nurses can often provide a broader range of care to their patients as they bring expertise from various fields. Becoming a dual registered nurse also provides benefits to you as it can provide increased job flexibility, opportunities for career growth and the ability to work across various settings.\n\nBy studying for one extra year compared to a standard three-year BSc (Hons) Nursing degree, you can graduate with eligibility to register as a qualified nurse in two fields: Adult Nursing and Children's Nursing.\n\nLJMU's MNurs Dual Field Nursing integrated masters degrees combine undergraduate and postgraduate level study. The first three years are all undergraduate level and focus on one field of nursing. The last year is postgraduate level and focuses on the second field of nursing. \n\nLevel 4 - year 1\nLevel 5 - year 2\nLevel 6 - year 3\nLevel 7 - year 4 \nAt each level you will have the opportunity to undertake an integrated placement. This a placement in a setting where you will be involved with patients or service users from both fields, for example a GP's surgery. \n\nAdult Nursing\n\nAs an adult nurse, you will provide nursing care to patients typically aged 18 and older, in both acute and long-term settings.\n\nYou will work alongside fellow nurses, doctors and other healthcare providers within hospitals and community health services to care for adults with chronic illnesses, urgent medical conditions or who require pre-operative, surgical and post-operative care.\n\nYou will be trained to assess, treat, and manage a wide range of health conditions, as well as promote the health of individuals, families and communities to improve their physical health and overall well-being. \n\nChildren's Nursing\n\nAs a children’s nurse, you will provide nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents. You will care for children and young people in both acute and long-term care. \n\nYou will be trained to assess, treat, and manage a wide range of physical, emotional, and developmental health conditions in young patients.\n\nWorking alongside fellow nurses, doctors and other healthcare providers, you will ensure the well-being of children, offering support to both the child and their families. \n\nOur Adult and Children's MNurs degree combines practice with theory. There is lots of support available to help you achieve your potential and progress through your course successfully. ",
