Whether a firm is considering taking on more staff, adopting a new technology or cutting prices in response to a change government policy, an understanding of economics is central to getting the big calls right. Macroeconomic trends also influence the wider business environment, affecting the cost of borrowing, how well-off consumers feel or the competitiveness of UK goods and services abroad. As a BSc Business Economics student, you will combine a rigorous training in economics with management, corporate law, marketing and finance, equipping you with the skills necessary to successfully navigate the business world.\n\nA formal understanding of economics is only one dimension of the skills you will develop on our programme. Economics graduates are sought after because the world is a complicated place. You will learn to make evidence-based decisions about which factors are important when framing a decision and which are a distraction.
