"summary": "This Health, Exercise and Sport Certificate of Higher Education will enable you to design, deliver, manage, and promote a variety of health-based interventions. You will be equipped to engage with different population groups across our communities including older people, children and young people, ethnic minority groups and people with additional needs or health conditions. \n\nThe Certificate of Higher Education is just the first year of the Degree and will allow you to experience university-level study, that is the first year of a degree, gaining both subject knowledge and developing personally through UA92's CPD modules as well. It is taught along with all the other first year degree students and there is no difference in content or teaching or anything whatsoever. Upon successful completion of the course, you simply complete a very short internal application and move directly onto the second year of the full degree programme at UA92. This means you would have completed a full degree in the same amount of time as degree students. Alternatively, should you wish, you can leave with a Certificate in Higher Education after your one year with us.\n\nAs a Health, Exercise and Sport professional, you can apply your knowledge and skills in several environments. Potential career paths include community activators, sport governing bodies, , schools, community outreach projects, local council workforces, GP referrals, charities, research centres, academic institutions and rehabilitation centres. \n\nYou will study a combination of health, exercise and sport modules including sport and exercise physiology, sports & exercise psychology, health and sport nutrition, physical activity, public health policies and health promotion. Giving you the knowledge, skills and experience you need to support, improve and protect the long-term health and holistic well-being of individuals and communities. \n\nYou will also: \n\nUnderstand the principles of, human anatomy and physiology, sports and exercise psychology and nutrition. \n\nExplore how exercise and sport can be used to encourage positive sustained lifestyle improvements or changes. \n\nProvide nutritional assessments and learn about the nature of common health conditions that may require dietary manipulations or adaptations. \n\nUnderstand common research methods and learn to form evidence-based perceptions of contemporary and emerging issues. \n\nEvaluate the policies and procedures that currently guide the public health landscapes, including locally and nationally. ",
