Play a role in helping athletes reach their peak performance.\n\nYou'll learn about critical sports therapy theory and gain the hands-on skills that make it happen. It’s your chance to get to grips with the expertise vital for caring, managing and rehabilitating sports people.\n\nLearn how to assist athletes with wide-ranging injury assessments and sport-specific rehabilitation programmes. We’ve crafted our modules to give you the underpinning principles of sports science and strength and conditioning. You’ll cover physiology, psychology, pathology and manual therapy in your studies. We’re focused on developing real skillsets that meet industry demands. This means you'll explore functional rehabilitation and contemporary approaches in sports injury management.\n\nWe recognise that practical skills aren't always developed in the classroom. You’ll take part in experiential learning in our industry-standard sports facilities. You'll also build up clinical practice experience on paid placements in real-world environments. We have strong industry links with over 120 placement providers across the North West. These placement providers range from professional to amateur-level sports clubs.\n\n**Why study with us**\n\n\n- Develop your skills on placement with Premier League or Championship football clubs, Super League rugby clubs, plus other sports and clinical environments.\n\n\n- You can gain additional vocational qualifications during your degree. These include Sports-Specific First Aid, Level 4 Advanced Trauma Pitchside First Aid and the Level 4 VTCT Certificate in Sports Massage Therapy.\n\n\n- There are lots of opportunities to access. You could gain experience at major sporting events like the London Marathon or the Small Island Games. These will help you build confidence and gain skills for your future career.\n\n\n**What you'll do**\n\n\n- Our course is accredited by the Society of Sports Therapists (SST). That means you can become a full member when you graduate, demonstrating that you're industry-ready.\n\n\n- You’ll have access to our state-of-the-art facilities, which will allow you put theory into practice as you help injured athletes return to competitive sport.\n\n\n- Explore areas such as joint examination and assessment, physiology, psychology, pathology, manual therapy, and rehabilitation. Develop an understanding of sports science, strength and conditioning, and functional rehabilitation.\n\n\n**Future careers**\n\nOur Sport Therapy BSc (Hons) degree is shaped around your future. You'll learn the specialist knowledge, practical skills and vital experience to get you ready for professional practice. We know the value of real-world experience, because of this, you'll have opportunities to put what you’ve learned into action with real athletes and sportspeople. You’ll also have placements throughout your studies, helping you gain both skills and contacts of your own.\n\nThat’s why it’s no surprise that so many of our graduates have developed very successful private injury clinics. Our other graduates have jobs in professional and semi-professional sports clubs and organisations. Now that sports therapists often work alongside other health professionals, there are also opportunities to work within the NHS.\n\nIn addition, some of our students progress into postgraduate study, focusing on sports medicine including PGCert Adolescent Sports Medicine and MSc Sports Medicine.",
