"summary": "**Why Wildlife Conservation Biology?**\n\nEarth’s sixth mass extinction is underway, driven by humans at a rate far faster than that previously achieved through natural environmental changes of the past. This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to help you contribute to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals for rebalancing life on our planet by halting and reversing biodiversity loss. \n\nYou’ll be part of our Bioscience courses, which achieve a consistent high ranking in the UK for student experience and graduate prospects. From 2nd for student satisfaction in the Complete University Guide 2025, to 5th for teaching quality in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2025, to 11th for graduate careers in the Guardian University Guide 2025. \n\nExamining the interplay between wildlife disease, behaviour, crime and conflict with humans, this course takes a unique lens to the study of conservation and rewilding. \n\nThrough sustainable and proportionate approaches to travel, you’ll also have the opportunity to study wildlife conservation biology overseas, progressing from field training in the UK to field research on game reserves in the African savannah and in the tropical rainforests of Costa Rica. There is also the opportunity to spend a semester in Year 2 at partner Universities in Canada, the USA or New Zealand.\n\nWith a focus on small class, practical and field learning, you will be assessed entirely through coursework to gain a truly representative measure of graduate attributes sought by future employers and for postgraduate study.\n\nOn this 4 year degree, you will spend Year 3 on placement, gaining a significant competitive edge of experience, networking with potential employers and gaining academic credit towards your degree, all at the same time. \n\nAt the end, as a Gloucestershire graduate you can choose to pursue one of our postgraduate courses, receiving a priority offer and an alumni fees discount.\n\n**Why University of Gloucestershire?**\nAt University of Gloucestershire, we’ve been encouraging students to meet every ambition since 1847.
