"urlDescription": "Acceptable English Language Qualifications",
"furtherInformation": "All applicants to the University (from the UK and Overseas) are required to show evidence of English Language proficiency. The minimum English Language requirement for this course is:\n\nGCSE/IGCSE English Language grade B/6, or;\n\nAn acceptable equivalent qualification. \n\nPlease note that if you hold English as a second language iGCSE qualification, we may also require you to offer one of our acceptable equivalent English Language qualificationsor achieve a higher grade in your iGCSE than the one stated above. Please contact the academic School for clarification. \n\nThe UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires that every student from outside the UK and the EU must show evidence of a minimum level of English Language in order to be granted a UK visa (Tier 4 visa) to study at undergraduate or postgraduate level. This level is often referred to as the 'B2 level'.\n\nAdditionally, our individual Schools may ask for specific English Language proficiency levels that are necessary for their academic programmes. In most cases these requirements are likely to be higher than the B2 level."

"suggest": "Archaeology and Anthropology. University of Manchester. Anthropology. Archaeology",
"summary": "Archaeology is the study of past peoples through the remains they leave behind - artefacts, architecture and landscapes, whilst anthropology provides us with the frameworks to understand living societies. The two disciplines complement each other well, bridging the study of past and present humanity.\n\nYou will develop an understanding of archaeological and anthropological theory, method and interpretation while learning the critical skills needed to explore the regional and global diversity of the material record and social and cultural life, using comparative, cross-cultural and cross-temporal methods.\n\nIn Anthropology, you will be particularly encouraged to use your knowledge of cultural diversity to challenge established assumptions embedded within the cultural systems, as well as within 'western' knowledge, practices and theoretical paradigms.\n\nIn Archaeology, you will develop a critical understanding of the place and importance of archaeology and material heritage in contemporary society, including the issues and controversies that they provoke.\n\nMost importantly, this course trains you to think both anthropologically and archaeologically.
