"summary": "**We are still open to applications from international students for September 2026 entry.**\n\nYou’ll work in small groups facilitated by practicing doctors following a 'problem based learning' curriculum. This often starts with the problems patients bring to you, and means you will learn about health from both the doctors’ and patients’ perspective.\n\nOur MBChB (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) programme will prepare you to become a medical doctor. With further training you can practice in any specialist area, from General Practice and Public Health, to Psychiatry, Anaesthesia and Surgery.\n\nAt Worcester, you’ll spend much of your time learning medicine in the community alongside patients, as well as studying on campus. You’ll work closely with primary care teams, consultants and allied health professionals during a series of projects and placements - in general practice, outreach clinics, community hospitals and care facilities.\n\nYou will of course spend time in hospitals – for example on medical and surgical wards, from specialised cancer treatment centres and psychiatric in-patient units, to labour wards and research laboratories - but from your first weeks as a medical student you will meet patients in general practice and start to join them on their healthcare journey.\n\nWhile on campus you’ll study in small groups with our team of experienced medical doctors, using a ‘problem based learning’ approach that builds complexity year-on-year.\n\nYou’ll be based on our new health and wellbeing campus, working alongside students studying other health professions. The new facility includes a specialised anatomy skills room using high fidelity models for visualisation of anatomy, pathology and physiology; a simulated GP’s surgery with a suite of consultation rooms; technology for viewing and feedback space; and easily dividable units for Objective Structured Clinical Examinations.\n\n**Open to graduates of any discipline** \n\nWe welcome applications from graduates in any subject area, including non-science degrees. At the Three Counties Medical School we're looking for resourceful problem-solvers from all backgrounds.\n\n**Why the University of Worcester?**\n\nThe University of Worcester is a campus university, meaning everything you need is on site. We’re based in a vibrant cathedral city just 40 mins south of Birmingham and an hour north of Bristol, and our beautiful green campuses have plenty of parking and quality on-site accommodation.\n\nThe Three Counties Medical School is a new and distinctive medical school serving the three counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire. The Medical School builds on our existing health expertise and our excellent relationships with local NHS trusts and hospitals.\n\n\n- **University of the Year finalist** in the Times Higher Education Awards 2025.\n\n\n- **First in the UK for sustained employment**, further study or both, from any multidisciplinary university – Longitudinal Education Outcomes (LEO) 2017 to 2025.\n\n\n- **First in the UK for quality education** – Joint 1st in the Times Higher Education’s University Impact Rankings 2025.\n\n\nJoin us at one of our regular Open Days to see if the University is a good fit for you: www.worcester.ac.uk/opendays",
