"summary": "**About this Course:** \n\nLearners can progress to the Higher National Diploma (HND), after successfully completing of the Certificate, for a second year of study to gain a full Level 5 Diploma qualification. \n\nThe course provides you with a wealth of transferrable experience and employability skills either to take you straight into industry or onto further study. You will also build confidence both academically and practically within real animal industry scenarios.\nYou will have access to work with a large variety of animal species. These include large and small exotic mammals, companion mammals, aquatics, amphibians, reptiles, invertebrates, farm livestock, horses and avian species.\nOur lecturing staff have a wide range of expertise, having worked in a variety of animal-related industries and have many years of experience.\nFormer students have stated that they felt ready for the next step of their career and were fully supported to achieve to the best of their ability.\n\n**Modules Covered:**\n\n**Core**\n- Biological Principles\n\n\n- Research Project\n\n\n**Specialist**\n- Therapy and Rehabilitation \n\n\n- Chemistry for Biologist\n\n\n**Elective**\n- Anthrozoology\n\n\n- Breeding and Genetics\n\n\n- Behavioural Approaches to Animal Management \n\n\n**Progression:**\n\n\n* Further study at higher levels or employment with the industry such as Zoology, Animal Behavior, Animal technician, Animal management of Collections, Teaching Specialist Subject.\n\n\n* Employment within the industry, such as Zoo-Keeping, Veterinary Sciences, Education, Animal Welfare, Visitor's Centre Management, Animal Charities and Teaching In A Specialist Subject. \n\n\n**Entry Requirements:**\n\n\n* Five GCSE's grade C/4 including English Literature, English Language, Maths and Science \n\n\n* Completion of HNC Level 4 \n\n\nPlus 58 UCAS points from at least one of the following:\n\n\n - Level 3 qualification in Animal Management \n - Three Science or Animal- based A- Levels\n - Access to HE certificate in a relevant discipline (Science of animal management) \n\n\nIf you do not meet these requirements please contact us as we are able to consider applicants with other qualifications, relevant experience or personal circumstances on an individual basis.",
