"furtherInformation": "Degree\nAll applicants must have an upper second-class honours (2.1) degree in any subject, in their first degree. We expect graduate students to have developed effective study and academic skills which will enable them to complete an accelerated medical programme. This includes the ability to think critically. Every graduate, whether with an arts or science degree, brings a unique set of knowledge, skills and understanding to the programme. For example, graduates with science, arts and humanities degrees will share their knowledge and understanding in the discussion of an individual patient's experience of illness from a range of different but equally valuable perspectives.\n\nGCSE\nAll applicants must have a minimum grade C (grade 4) in GCSE mathematics, English Language and either chemistry and biology, or science and additional science, or combined science (or an equivalent standard in other qualifications approved by the University).\n\nNon-academic entry requirements\nIn addition to academic entry requirements, you will be assessed against our non-academic criteria.\nApplicants must be able to show they:\n– Are self-motivated and resilient\n– Have reflected on, and learnt from, life experiences (this may include, work experience, paid employment and personal experiences both in and outside health and social care settings)\n– Can communicate effectively\n– Are able to interact successfully with others\n– Can demonstrate an understanding of the values of the NHS constitution\n\nUK Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT)\nApplicants are ranked by UCAT score and a certain number are invited to a Selection Day, provided they meet our academic criteria. Please note that the UCAT score of those applicants attending a Selection Day varies year on year and as such it is not possible to give applicants an indication of the score that is required to attend a Selection Day. For further information on the UCAT please visit https://www.ucat.ac.uk/\n\nInternational Applicants\nInternational applicants are not eligible to apply for this programme.\n\nSelection process:\nPlease visit our How to Apply page for details of our Selection Process at \nhttps://www.southampton.ac.uk/courses/medicine-bm4-graduate-entry-degree-bmbs#how-to-apply\n\nWe are committed to ensuring that all learners with the potential to succeed, regardless of their background, are encouraged to apply to study with us.",

"suggest": "Graduate Medicine. University of Southampton. Medicine (general and para-medical)",
"summary": "Study Medicine as part of a supportive and ambitious community of peers and staff, to become the doctor you want to be. Medicine is a challenging and rewarding field that blends science with compassionate patient care. At Southampton, you’ll study a curriculum designed to mirror real medical practice from your very first week, exploring how to diagnose, treat, and prevent disease, seeing the whole person and not only the condition they present with. On our updated four-year BMBS Medicine (BM4) degree you will study medicine over 4 years and draw on your existing knowledge and experience as you train to be a doctor. You'll be part of a small group of graduates embarking on this intensive but rewarding programme, learning in clinical settings and on a curriculum which integrates insights into the latest research driving advances in healthcare.\n\nAfter graduating with a BMBS degree, you’ll be eligible for provisional registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and can begin your Foundation Programme as a junior doctor. Our graduates pursue a wide range of careers, from hospital medicine, surgery and general practice to public health, global health, medical education, and roles in research, healthcare management, or pharmaceuticals. Your medical degree opens doors to leadership positions that can shape the future of healthcare.\n\nKey Features of the Course:\n\n• This graduate entry medicine degree is designed to support graduates to achieve excellent learning outcomes over 4 years instead of the usual 5. You can apply with any 2:1 degree or equivalent qualification, including arts and humanities degrees\n• Involvement in research and entrepreneurship. We work on life-changing treatments and therapies in partnership with industry and with experts in the physical sciences, computing, engineering and mathematics\n• We offer a number of interview places to this BM4 programme for graduates from the University of Southampton. Applicants must meet both the non-academic and academic criteria for this programme\n• In years 1 and 2, students will be placed in partner trusts including Winchester as well as Southampton. In the final 2 years of the programme, students are placed across the Wessex region\n• Optional intercalated master’s degree between Years 3 and 4 (study a master's of medical science or MSc at Southampton; or an iBSc or MSc at another university)\n• Elective placement in year 5 in the UK or abroad\n\nStudent Support\n\nFrom day one, you’ll be part of a friendly, supportive community of students, academics, and clinical mentors dedicated to your success. Experienced tutors and clinicians will guide you through practical and academic challenges, while small group teaching ensures you get personalised support. You’ll develop teamwork and communication skills alongside your peers, and have access to pastoral care, wellbeing services, and a wide range of student-led societies to help you thrive both academically and personally.\n\nFurther Information\n\nThis medicine course is only open to home fees classified applicants. On successful completion, you’ll graduate with a BMBS degree and be eligible to apply for provisional registration with the General Medical Council (GMC). Applicants may be invited to attend a Selection Day as part of the admissions process. ",
