"summary": "This 18-month full-time route has been designed for Nursing Associates registered with the NMC*, who wish to become an adult nurse, recognising prior certified learning. \nThe adult nursing course is approved against the Nursing and Midwifery Council Future Nurse: Standards of Proficiency for Registered Nurses. These standards set out the knowledge and skills that you will learn to enable you to deliver world-class, person-centred, evidence-based care. \nUpon completion of the course, you will be eligible to apply to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as an Adult Nurse. \nThis course will prepare you to care for adults of all ages (aged 18+), who are recovering from an accident or acute illness, learning to live with a chronic health condition or at the end of their lives. You will also learn how to empower people to make a difference in their own physical and mental health. \nThis nursing course, offered at our West London campus, is also available at our Berkshire Institute for Health in Reading. As you will spend half your course gaining experience on placement, you should choose a course location that you can travel to easily - select the correct option below. \n*You must have successfully completed your Nursing Associate Foundation Degree in the UK, within 4 years of the start date of the BNursing (Hons) Adult Nursing course.\nWhat you'll study\nYou will spend equal amounts of time studying and in practice, including in hospital and out of hospital settings. Our simulation centres will help you practise your clinical skills in a safe environment. You will reflect the values expected in contemporary nursing practice (The Code, NMC 2018) and the NHS Constitution.\nOn this course you will learn how to deliver care to the high standards set by the Nursing and Midwifery Council. The aim is to equip you with the skills and knowledge to face the challenges of nursing in the twenty-first century.\nYou will learn how to: \n• provide, lead and coordinate care that is compassionate and evidence-based\n• care for people in healthcare settings, including their own home, in the community and in hospital\n• help promote health, protect health and prevent ill health\n• empower people, communities and populations to take control of their own health decisions and behaviours\n• care for people of different ages, backgrounds, cultures and beliefs\n• care for people with complex mental, physical, cognitive and behavioural care needs\n• care for people at the end of their life\n• work across health- and social care services \n• play a proactive role in multidisciplinary teams\n• think critically and apply your knowledge and skills\n• provide expert, evidence-based nursing care\n• be emotionally intelligent and resilient, while managing your personal health and wellbeing.\nSupport\nWe will provide a supportive learning environment to help you gain confidence as you develop your skills. You will learn using high-tech, innovative resources that make your classes fun and engaging.
