Your training on this integrated PhD will enable you to effectively engage with – and shape – socioeconomic policies. This includes areas such as innovation, entrepreneurship, inclusive trade, minimum wage, education and development.\n\nWorking with our Accounting and Society Research Mobilisation Group you’ll enjoy a dynamic research environment and high-quality supervision. The Group specialises in research in:\n\n\n- social, environmental and ethical accountability and sustainability\n\n\n- data and analytics in accounting\n\n\n- capital market-based accounting research\n\n\n- governance and executive compensation.\n\n\nOur researchers have strong academic backgrounds. They actively engage with national and international research networks and collaborations. In addition, they also have good links with the business community, Government, non-profit organisations and professional accountancy bodies.\n\nFind out more about research at the University of Sussex Business School\n\n**What is an integrated PhD?**\nAn integrated PhD includes taking Masters-level modules in your first year as preparation for PhD-level research.\n\nThe taught year will help develop your research skills, ready for your PhD. It covers:\n\n\n- quantitative, qualitative and analytical methods\n\n\n- empirical design\n\n\n- programming. \n\n\nThrough the taught modules, you’ll gain a meaningful progression point and all the support you need for your PhD. Once you’ve successfully completed the taught element of the degree, you’re ready to progress to the research phase of your PhD including your research thesis.\n\nDuring your PhD, you’ll continue to receive training. You’ll develop more advanced research and publishing skills including:\n\n\n- writing\n\n\n- winning grants\n\n\n- stakeholder engagement. \n\n\nThe integrated PhD offers the depth rigour and focus of a PhD, while developing your research and employability skills. \n\n**Accreditation**\nYou’ll join the EQUIS and AMBA-accredited University of Sussex Business School.
