"furtherInformation": "B720 BM (Hons) Midwifery degree course: The entry requirements outline the minimum educational requirements. \n\nIf selected, applicants will be expected to attend an interview and undergo further screening for entry into the Midwifery course. \n\nEntry Process for Professional Courses:\nAll applicants must satisfy a range of entry criteria, please see the NMC’s Standards for Preregistration Nursing Education. NMC entry requirements include demonstrating good health and good character. The School requires all candidates to undertake an enhanced criminal record check and other requirements for demonstrating good character; the local Health Board will be responsible for setting the requirement for good health. The criminal records check will include an enhanced DBS check for the child and adult workforce including a check of the barred lists. \n\nApplicants who have lived or worked outside the UK are also required to undertake a criminal records check in their countries of residence. \nCandidates with entry qualifications older than 5 years must demonstrate evidence of recent study at an appropriate level. "summary": "Validated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), our Midwifery BM (Hons) develops you as a caring, compassionate, responsible, accountable and autonomous professional. It blends wide-ranging clinical placements with research and evidence-based theory and supported clinical skills training featuring virtual technologies, which enable you to practise skills in a supported environment.\n\nSpending half of your time on placement in North Wales, you’ll gain the confidence to lead the safe and effective care of women, pregnant people, newborns and families, whatever the circumstances. You will graduate from a university that has achieved the highest ‘Gold’ standard from UNICEF’s Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) – the only midwifery undergraduate degree programme in Wales to do so – you’ll also graduate with the knowledge and skills to support infant feeding and relationship building.\n\nFrom the outset, clinical skills training builds the skills required to become a professional registered midwife. Our simulation-based training equipment uses VR and lifelike manikins, including a ‘pregnant’ manikin which gives birth. This lets you safely examine ‘clients’ and interact in real-time to clinical situations based on real-life examples. It helps prepare you for the realities of working and responding to such situations, both on placement and future practice.\n\nConsiderable financial support is available if you are considered a home student* for tuition fees (someone already living within the UK) and can commit to working in Wales for two years on graduation. You could get your tuition fees covered in full through the NHS Wales bursary scheme and claim for a £1,000 bursary contribution to living costs. A wide range of additional support, subject to eligibility, is also available for childcare, parent learners, disabled students and more. More information is available on our website. \n\n*Please note that as this course is funded by NHS Wales, we are unable to accept applications from international students.",
