The course sits within the City St George's Department of Allied Health, the largest provider of speech and language therapy education in the UK.\n\nThe three year BSc SLT course entitles graduates to register and work as Speech and Language Therapists. We also offer the option of taking an extra year to complete the Master in Speech and Language Therapy (MSLT).\n\n**1st in London and 2nd in the UK for Health Professions, Guardian University Guide 2025.**\n\n**Who is it for?**\nThe course is designed for students who are looking for a rewarding and lifelong career within the speech and language therapy profession. You will need to have:\n\n\n- Good listening and communication skills\n\n\n- Good problem-solving skills\n\n\n- Good organisational skills\n\n\n- An ability to learn a range of academic subjects and to apply your learning to clinical practice\n\n\n- An enthusiasm for working with children and adults and as part of a team.\n\n\n**Objectives**\nAs a student on the BSc (Hons) Speech and Language Therapy course you will learn in a world-leading environment from academics who are at the forefront of the field. The course covers the foundations of speech and language therapy including both the social and clinical context of human communication. The optional MSLT year offers a range of elective modules and is designed to enhance your knowledge of clinical specialisms and develop your skills in research and clinical leadership.\n\nThe innovative and research-informed curriculum is supported by the Roberta Williams Speech and Language Therapy Centre, our in-house SLT clinic led by specialist practitioners which offers excellent practice placement opportunities to students. You can also take advantage of our close links with speech and language therapy services throughout London.\n\nThis degree leads to work in a challenging and varied field - you could be working with autistic children, people who stammer or adults who have lost their speech following a stroke.\n\nIf you have already graduated with a primary degree, City St George's also offers a two year fast-track MSc in Speech and Language Therapy.",
