"summary": "**This is the ideal course for dentists who would like to introduce dental implants to their practice. Our MSc Clinical Implantology combines home study with the opportunity to treat patients under the clinical supervision of experienced consultants.**\n\nBusy dental practitioners can gain the skills and knowledge required of a Dentist with Special Interest (DwiSI) over one year of full-time study or two years of part-time study.\n\nThis course is delivered via blended learning, using a combination of online delivery, face-to-face learning and clinical sessions. It prepares you to provide safe and appropriate dental implants as part of your clinical practice.\n\nThere’s also the opportunity for continued mentoring and support from the experienced clinicians and educators who deliver the course.\n\nFull-time students will be based at Preston Campus, and undertake their clinical sessions within the UCLan Dental Centre.\n\nPart-time students will be based off-campus, undertaking both learning and clinical sessions within one of our approved regional training centres.\n\n**Why study with us**\n- Examine patients, create treatment plans, place and restore dental implants, all under direct clinical supervision at one of our Clinical Training Centres.\n\n\n- Gain the academic skills needed to critically appraise published work within dental and oral health related journals, and to understand how dental research is carried out in order to prepare you for your research project.\n\n\n- The University works in conjunction with governing dental bodies, ensuring that the curriculum facilitates the development of transferable skills, which you can apply to your clinical practice.\n",
