This programme is designed both for those at the start of their career who want to build their understanding of the field, and for professionals in areas such as mental health, social work, education, HR, or the voluntary sector who want to deepen their knowledge and skills.\n\nYou’ll critically explore different ways of understanding mental health and distress, and examine how social and cultural contexts influence both problems and recovery. The course introduces you to a range of therapeutic models and helps you evaluate their evidence base and relevance to different presentations.\n\nAlongside this, you’ll develop core practitioner-relevant skills in assessment, formulation, critical thinking, and reflective practice. Research training is built in throughout the programme, giving you the opportunity to design and carry out an independent research project in an area of your interest.\n\nBy the time you graduate, you’ll have the knowledge and confidence to engage critically with psychological therapies, apply psychosocial perspectives to complex problems, and communicate your ideas effectively in both written and spoken form.\n\nThis is an academic programme and does not provide professional accreditation.\n\nAvailable as an MSc or Postgraduate Diploma.",
